Steve founded STS Construction, a General Contractor specializing in residential remodeling, along with his son, in 2007. The company increased annual revenues year after year, profitable from the first year and growing profits each year in spite of a recession. He sold his interest in the company to his son, who continues to successfully operate the company.

In 2001, Steve founded SMS Communications, Inc. DBA Pacific Coast Teleco, a company selling, installing and servicing business telephone systems and installing voice and data cabling. This company increased annual revenues year after year, profitable from the first year and growing profits each year, until he sold the company in 2008 to concentrate on his General Contracting business.

In 1997, Steve purchased 50% of a struggling Concrete Cutting and Demolition company in Las Vegas, Nevada. As President of that company, he turned the company from one suffering losses and cash flow problems into a profitable entity, paying off all debt and one of positive cash flow.

Steve joined Interwest Communications in Colorado with revenues in excess of 12 million dollars as Vice President of Operations in 1995. Responsible for Operations for offices in Denver, Fort Collins, Colorado Springs and Pueblo, Steve increased profits and operations efficiency, assisting the owner to successfully sell the company to a public corporation.

Steve joined a large bus transportation company in San Diego as a consultant, soon to be hired as Vice President. As a consultant, he helped the owner solve serious cash flow problems prior to being hired full time. During his five years as Vice President, he assisted the company to grow from $ 2.7 million in revenues to over $ 7.4 million. He left the company in 1992, only to rejoin the company in 1999 to assist the owner in posturing the company for sale to a public company in 2000. He stayed as General Manager after the sale for one year, resigning to start his communications company.

In 1980, Steve joined Executone Telecommunications – San Diego as Controller, soon to be promoted to Vice President of Operations, becoming responsible for operations, finance and administration of the San Diego operation and its sister company, Executone Telecommunications – Arizona. These companies were successfully sold to public companies in 1985. Steve was asked to stay as General Manager of the San Diego office and promoted one year later to District General Manager of Executone in Western Washington and Oregon. He resigned in 1987 to return to San Diego
